Who am I?

Hi, I’m Meghean, the therapist behind Olive & Oak Counseling, LLC. I created this practice to be a supportive space for teens, college students, and adults who are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or navigating difficult seasons of life.

I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, ADHD, trauma, depression, life transitions, and other challenges that can arise along the way. Many of my clients come to therapy exhausted from trying to hold everything together on their own. Supporting people through those moments is what led me into this field and continues to shape the way I practice.

I earned my undergraduate degree in psychology and sociology and later my Master’s in Social Work from Kennesaw State University. My experience includes working with foster youth, serving as a sexual assault survivor advocate, providing intensive in-home therapy for teens transitioning from higher levels of care, and practicing as an outpatient therapist with teens and adults.

My approach is supportive, collaborative, and very real. I incorporate humor, transparency, and radical genuineness because therapy doesn’t have to feel clinical to be effective. You don’t need to come prepared with the “right” words — we’ll start wherever you are. I’ll follow your lead while offering guidance and practical tools to help you feel more steady and confident in everyday life.

Approaches I use

  • A structured, trauma-focused approach used to help process distressing memories and reduce their emotional intensity.

  • Helps identify patterns between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors and develop practical tools for responding in healthier, more helpful ways.

  • Focuses on building skills for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and improving communication and relationships.

  • Recognizes how past experiences can impact emotional responses and prioritizes safety, trust, and empowerment throughout the therapy process.

  • Explores how early relationships and life experiences may influence current relationship patterns and emotional responses.

  • Focuses on creating a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their experiences and move toward growth at their own pace.
